The Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons is the officially recognized main body of Plastic, Reconstructive and aesthetic Surgery in Turkiye. Among various associations representing different subspecialties of plastic surgery in Turkiye, it is the only association legally recognized as the main body representing the whole specialty.

Therefore the society represents the whole society in all legislative and legal affairs. TSPRAS coordinates and works with the Turkish Ministry of Health, the Council of Higher Education, Turkish Medical Association and other legal bodies for development and regulation of legislation, education and practice of plastic surgery in Turkiye.

TSPRAS holds the Turkish Plastic Surgery Board exam and certifies competence. TSPRAS is also represented in the European Board of Plastic Surgery as a member national association and regulates the application of candidates from Turkiye to the European Board Exams. TSPRAS also visits and inspects Plastic Surgery Education centers such as universities or hospitals to accredit and approve the sufficiency of Plastic Surgery Education.

Some of the other goals and activities of the society are as follows:

To encourage the exchange of information both nationally and internationally in order to achieve and maintain a high scientific level within the society of the Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialization.

To establish relations with other national and international associations in the field of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and to represent the nation in international associations.

To organize regular scientific congresses and meetings covering the main specialty and subspecialties of Plastic Surgery.

To ensure that the training standards of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons are at an international level so that they can be exemplary specialists and educators for future generations.

To facilitate that Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons may receive higher education in distinguished national and international centers through grants and other means.

To promote and facilitate the attendance of Turkish plastic surgeons in international meetings and courses.

To support scientific studies and research.

To warn the relevant parties and take the necessary measures against irresponsible behaviors that harm and humiliate the professional honor of the Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery society.

To inform and educate the society regularly on issues related to plastic surgery through all kinds of media.

To make necessary warnings and legal applications to the relevant authorities when situations that are contrary to public and human health are determined on issues within the scope of plastic surgery.

To provide the necessary assistance and support to the public and our colleagues and to ensure coordination in the event of natural disasters.
